Hosted by the Beijing Investment Promotion Service Center, the Malaysia Investment Promotion and Exchange Conference introduced Beijing's economic development, its institutional opening-up advantages under the "two zones" initiative, key industrial priorities under the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), and policies supporting investment.
The presentation highlighted Beijing's strengths in next-generation information technology, digital economy, commercial aerospace, biomedicine, and green, low-carbon industries, including its innovation resources and application opportunities.
Representatives from Beijing's Dongcheng and Changping districts also outlined their respective industrial priorities, available space for business development, and supporting services, seeking to match local resources with the investment interests of Malaysian companies.
The event provided a platform for business representatives from both sides to discuss project development, technology cooperation, market access, and operational support.
Participants from Standard Chartered Bank, DPS Resources Bhd and Golden Elite Energy Sdn Bhd, as well as Dato' Lew Fong Voon, expressed interest in Beijing's business environment and market potential. They said they looked forward to visiting Beijing and exploring opportunities to advance investment projects.
Representatives of Malaysian business associations also pledged to help connect more local companies with opportunities in Beijing.
The two sides have great potential for cooperation, with Malaysia's strengths in semiconductor components, halal certification, and palm oil, alongside its strategic location and cost advantages, and Beijing's capabilities in frontier R&D, headquarters operations, and professional services.
As Malaysia advances industrial upgrading under its New Industrial Master Plan 2030, Beijing will continue to facilitate business ties, encourage two-way investment, and help Chinese companies use Malaysia as a gateway to Southeast Asia, fostering mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
