There were 6,960,700 accounts officially registered with the Beijing Stock Exchange (BSE) as of the end of 2023, with over 1.56 million new accounts registered throughout the year.

BSE’s reform and development has focused on expanding the investor pool and enhancing appeal to registered accounts and potential investors alike. On September 1, 2023, the second anniversary of the founding of BSE, the China Securities Regulatory Commission released the Opinions on High-Quality Development of the Beijing Stock Exchange which contains proposals for how to improve BSE investor suitability management. In accordance with BSE's revised measures, the investors having been granted the transaction rights of the Sci-Tech Innovation Board will no longer be subject to verification by securities companies of securities assets or years of transaction or required to pass knowledge assessments when applying for BSE transaction rights. In this case, investors will gain the transaction rights of BSE after signing risk disclosure statements.
