The Capital's Sci-tech Innovation and Development Index 2023 and the Report on Sci-tech Innovation and Development of Cities in China (2023) were released recently, revealing that Beijing is the top city in terms of three primary indicators: innovation resources, innovation services, and innovation performance. These results further demonstrate Beijing's advantages and vibrancy in sci-tech innovation.

According to the Report, the top ten cities in the China Sci-tech Innovation and Development Index 2023 are Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Wuhan, and Hefei.

The Report also suggests that future urban development shall leverage sci-tech innovation to create new growth drivers. It is also imperative for cities to address the three challenges of improving rudimentary innovation capabilities, reforming sci-tech systems and mechanisms, and attracting talented individuals to sci-tech entities.
