At the press conference, ZhangYi, deputy director-general of China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges, pointed out that 2023 is the first year to fully implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and a crucial year to forge ahead with the 14th Five-Year Plan. This year, CIFTIS will further highlight its high level, with major events to be organized and authoritative reports to be released. A total of 202 forums, conferences and other events will be held, including ten summits, two special activities, 107 thematic forums, 17 side events, and 66 promotional business talks. The Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the National Health Commission will hold the Promotion for "Invest in China Year": Services Sector, the Forum on Trends and Latest Developments of Digital Trade, the Hygiene Health & Medical Industry Innovation Service Conference and other events, and release authoritative information. The 2023 CIFTIS will further highlight international participation and its role as a platform for expanding opening-up. It will strengthen cooperation with international organizations, including its three major supporters, and hold the Global Trade in Services Summit. International organizations such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the World Meteorological Organization will hold exhibitions and conferences. The Chinese government and the United Nations will jointly host a signing ceremony for the Beijing Convention on the Judicial Sale of Ships as well as a related forum. At present, 75 countries and international organizations have confirmed that they will organize exhibitions or conferences onsite in the name of their respective nation or headquarters. The 2023 CIFTIS will further highlight professionalism for fruitful results. Exhibitors' federations and trade delegations will be set up. CIFTIS organizers will work with more than 70 institutions to encourage enterprises' participation and procurement and build a database of professional visitors. Online and onsite press conference halls will be created, new policies for trade facilitation will be issued, investment promotion events will be organized, and thoughtful services will be provided for precise matching of supply and demand as well as for business talks and contract signing, so as to turn exhibitors into investors. The 2023 CIFTIS will further highlight market orientation to promote the sustainable development of the trade fair. It will leverage the advantages of its operation mode that combines public institutions and enterprise groups to facilitate market-oriented operation process. To date, six of its nine thematic exhibitions have realized market-oriented operation. More efforts will be put into market development to expand channels for sponsorship, cooperation, advertising, and investment attraction. At present, ten types of cultural and creative derivatives of the CIFTIS mascot FuYan have been designed. 

Wang Zhiyong, member of the CPC Leadership Group and deputy head of Shijingshan District People's Government of Beijing Municipality, pointed out that as the host of CIFTIS thematic exhibitions, Shijingshan District has strengthened security measures in urban environment, road traffic, public services, etc., including improving the urban environment and enhancing traffic control at and around Shougang Park and setting up city volunteer service stations at important node cities. During the CIFTIS, the district will launch consumption activities that integrate culture, commerce and tourism to optimize consumption supply and related services. It will also officially release the program to construct an "area for international opening-up and cooperation", expand international trade and two-way investment, and promote international cooperation in such fields as digital economy, technological innovation, and green, low-carbon development.
