In order to provide senior citizens with thoughtful services, Shichahai Sub-district of Xicheng District sets up a regional senior care service alliance, and creates "15-min home-based senior care service circles" under its jurisdiction, which means residents can enjoy senior care services within a 15 minute of walking.

There are five senior care service stations in Shichahai Sub-district at present, offering six kinds of services, including day care service, emergency call service, in-home meal service, cultural and entertainment services, health guidance service, and spiritual care service. Meanwhile, the sub-district cooperates with three senior care centers to provide the elderly with nursing services.

Shichahai Sub-district has 366 life service stores such as vegetable retail stores, breakfast shops, convenience stores, barbershops, laundries, housekeeping service centers, home appliance maintenance stores, and delivery stations. More than 170 organizations, institutions and businesses in its jurisdiction, including banks, supermarkets, restaurants, nursing centers, and real estate agencies, provide services for the elderly based on their own characteristics.

Shichahai Sub-district organizes a variety of cultural activities for the elderly in the sub-district citizen center, cultural center, activity center, and community-level cultural activity rooms.

In addition, a volunteer team of 268 people provides services for the oldest old, empty nesters, and disabled seniors in the sub-district’s all 22 communities.
