Chaoyang District Now Registers Up to 131 MNC Regional Headquarters

Beijing Missfresh Ecommerce Co., Ltd., located in Beijing’s Chaoyang District, was recently identified and recognized as a multinational's regional headquarters by Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau (BMCB), also becoming the first case of the e-commerce industry in 2021. So far, the number of regional headquarters of multinationals in Chaoyang District has reached 131.

Established in Chaoyang District, Beijing in 2014, Beijing Missfresh Ecommerce Co., Ltd. is a private full-category mobile online supermarket company currently headquartered in Wangjing International Business Center. Pioneer of the "front-placed warehouse + doorstep delivery" model, the company has established an express cold chain logistics system featuring "urban sorting center + community-based warehouse" in 16 major cities across China, which supports doorstep delivery of high-quality international fresh foods in minimal 30 minutes.

According to a local official, Chaoyang District in the next step will leverage the development of the "Two Zones" to continuously innovate and improve the business environment in line with world-class standards. It will fully take advantage of the headquarters economy to continue exploiting potential of high-quality headquarters resources. It will assist companies in upgrading their capacity and build new hub for headquarters economy.

Identification and recognition of multinationals' regional headquarters in Beijing

Application for recognized regional headquarters of multinational corporations may be subject to following conditions:

1. Foreign-invested company registered as an independent legal person;

2. Overseas parent company registered with a total assets value of no less than USD 200 million;

3. Total registered capital in Beijing of no less than USD 10 million actually paid in by overseas parent company.
