The China Headquarters of SMC Corporation was officially settled in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) as its two pillar entities SMC Investment Management and SMC Automation received their business licenses which took only three hours for name verification and registration approval.

SMC Corporation is a Fortune 500 company and a global leader in the pneumatic field, covering the R&D, manufacturing and sales of pneumatic components. As one of the earliest foreign investment in the BDA, SMC (China) has built and operated four installations, namely, No.1 Factory, No.2 Factory, No.4 Factory and R&D Center, contributing and experiencing the industrial high-quality development of the BDA.

The development of automation of China's high-tech industries promotes the growth of pneumatic market. With the settlement in BDA, SMC’s China Headquarters will be responsible for the overall management and operation of investment, manufacturing, R&D and sales in China. The headquarters will speed up the development of its business in China by integrating resources of its automation and manufacturing branches and resources in Beijing, Tianjin and Guangzhou. The integration will lead to an increase of revenue, taxation and other benefits, conducive to the development of intelligent manufacturing in China and around the globe.

Taking it as an example, BDA is committed to greater strides toward high quality development and new development pattern by leveraging on the strategic opportunities in building a national integrated demonstration zone for greater openness in the service sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
