From September 28, 2021, specific transportive devices are prohibited in the Beijing metro.

The transportation department in the city has revised the Beijing Subway Passenger Regulations, by adding "No electric travel devices or articles which might interfere with standard operations inside the station or the metro, or pose a threat to operational safety ( with the exception of accessible electric wheelchairs) shall be brought into the station," and further specifying that passengers shall not "use folding bicycles, scooters, rollerskates and skateboards, or bring balloons in the station."
