On August 18, the E-Town Comprehensive Bonded Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "E-Town CBZ") passed its preliminary inspection. This marks the establishment of the city's fourth comprehensive bonded zone, and the country's first one themed around "new quality productive forces," which is now set to commence operations under customs closure.
Approved by the State Council in September last year, the E-Town CBZ covers 0.61 square kilometers. It is located in the Changziying Industrial Zone in the southern part of the E-Town New Area, adjacent to key industrial clusters within the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area.
The E-Town CBZ is being developed in two phases. Phase I has been completed, delivering about 100,000 square meters of high-standard industrial space. It focuses on four leading industries: next-generation information technology, high-end and new -energy intelligent vehicles, biotechnology and healthcare, as well as robotics and intelligent manufacturing. Several service trade systems have also been put in place to support these industries.
Phase II will be rolled out in stages, with plans to build bonded exhibition facilities, bonded testing and maintenance centers, and high-end manufacturing plants.
