On March 2nd, 2020, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Survey Office of the National Bureau of Statistics in Beijing released the Statistical Communique on the National Economy and Social Development of Beijing in 2019.

According to preliminary estimation, Beijing's regional GDP in 2019 was 3.53713 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.1% over the previous year at comparable prices.

Among them, the value-added of primary industry was 11.37 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.5%; the value-added of secondary industry was 571.51 billion yuan, an increase of 4.5%; the value-added of tertiary industry was 2.95425 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.4%.

The composition of the three industries changed from 0.4:16.5:83.1 in the previous year to 0.3:16.2:83.5. Calculated based on the permanent resident population, Beijing’s GDP per capita has increased from 153,000 yuan in 2018 to 164,000 yuan.
