Beijing's economy remains stable and positive in 2024

In 2024, Beijing's regional gross domestic product (GDP) exceeded CNY 4.9 trillion, marking a 5.2-percent year-on-year increase. The industrial added value of enterprises above the designated size in the city grew 6.7 percent compared with the previous year, showing accelerated growth. The residents' per capita disposable income reached CNY 85,415, up 4.4 percent year-on-year.

As shown by core indicators such as economic growth rate, employment, and residents' income, Beijing's economy remained generally stable in 2024, with numerous highlights in fields such as the information service industry, finance, industrial and services consumption, and online retail, demonstrating progress with stability ensured. Since the fourth quarter of 2024, Beijing launched a series of incremental policies, which promoted structural optimization and the improvement of development quality.

Looking ahead to the economic situation of 2025, the structural optimization and innovative development will enhance the endogenous driving force of the economy, while several policies and measures promoting stable growth will play positive roles in stabilizing market expectations and enhancing market vitality. These positive factors will also contribute to the economic development of Beijing this year.
