Recently, the two-month Online Q&A Event of "Cup of Safety & Health" Workers' Safe Emergency-responding Skills and Knowledge Competition of Beijing Federation of Trade Unions of Foreign-funded Enterprises ended in a satisfactory way. The competition attracted a total of 8,653 workers from 67 employers, including Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc., Schneider Electric, Siemens Factory Automation Engineering Ltd., Siemens China, Mars Food, Pizza Hut, HSBC and PCCW, of whom 280 won the prizes.

The event was aimed to earnestly implement the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on work safety, improve the safety and health awareness of employees of foreign-funded enterprises as well as their safe emergency-responding skills, promote the progress of enterprises in safety and health culture, prevent and reduce work safety accidents, and ensure the safety and health of employees. The questions involved the knowledge of laws and regulations on work safety, prevention of work safety accidents, occupational hazards and prevention of occupational diseases, prevention and control of infectious diseases, etc. Participants were required to answer 100 questions online in 45 minutes, and the question bank was available before the competition. During the event, the trade unions of enterprises attached great importance, effectively organized and actively encouraged all employees to participate, and thus created a sound atmosphere for work safety within all the members of the federation.

The event helps a lot to popularize safety and health knowledge among employees, enhance their safe work skills, promote work safety in enterprises, and further boost the implementation of work safety measures. The federation will focus on the competition, and carry out the campaign of "I do practical work for the public", in a bid to continuously improve the safety awareness and skills of employees at foreign-funded enterprises.
