On July 30, Beijing Investment Promotion Service Center (the Center) launched a theme Party day activity to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army of China. The Center also convenes its demobilized military officers for a discussion on “staying true to our original aspiration and following the Party”. The participants also watched Island Keeper. Deputy Director Xu Zongjun, who is also a member of the Leading Party Members Group of the Center, presided over the discussion and delivered a speech. A total of 35 demobilized military officers attended the discussion.

Among them, eight former officers shared their understanding of the military experience and career life after the demobilization. They also thanked for the care of the leadership and the colleagues in the Center. The participants reached a consensus that in the future work, they should always carry the ideal belief and gratitude, always keep the essence of the military and fine traditions, transform the original inspiration and mission into the consciousness of action to listen to the party command and do their duty for the party. They should live up to the mission and trust, and make new achievements in their work.

Mr. Xu, on behalf of the leadership and the Leading Party Members Group of the Center, sent holiday greetings to all demobilized military officers and expressed sincere gratitude for their positive contributions to the capital’s investment promotion work over the years. He stressed that the demobilized military officers have become the main force and fresh activists of the Center, adding that they should complete the role change, better carry forward the good tradition, and effectively take up their own responsibilities, striving for a successful career. Mr. Xu put forward five hopes for all demobilized military officers to further inherit the military working style and do a solid job. First, everyone should uphold the loyalty to the Party, follow the Party’s lead from the bottom of the heart, and strengthen “Four Consciousnesses”, “Four-sphere Confidence” and “Two Upholds”. To this end, everyone must be deeply conscious of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership. They must stay confident in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics. They must uphold the core position of the General Secretary on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and uphold the Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership. Second, everyone should continue to carry forward the sentiment of serving the people and take effective steps around constructing “two zones”, namely a national integrated demonstration zone for greater openness in the services sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Third, everyone should continue to promote the military spirit of daring to fight and win, constantly sharpen the indestructible will to fight, and not be frightened to face all kinds of difficult challenges. Fourth, everyone should carry on the fine style of strict discipline, consciously and strictly behave themselves, and always achieve the unity of knowledge and practice. Fifth, everyone should continue to strengthen their skills, broaden their horizons and increase their knowledge in practice. Through the overall improvement of comprehensive qualities and abilities, everyone should always take the center and the overall situation as the main focus, have the courage and skill to accomplish the tasks, and strive to make a positive contribution to the cause of investment promotion in the capital.

After the discussion, the participants watched a movie, Island Keeper, together, which made everyone receive a vivid ideological education.
