Beijing Federation of Trade Unions of Foreign-funded Enterprises Holds Rights Protection Services Training

To improve the legal literacy and the capacity of law-based duty performance of the union officials, guide them to apply legal thinking and the approach of the rule of law to protect worker’s rights and interests and serve employees, and promote the effectiveness of rights protection services and practical work of the union, Beijing Federation of Trade Unions of Foreign-funded Enterprises held rights protection training related to labor disputes and the Civil Code in Beijing Sanyuan Fragrant Hills Business Hotel on April 16 and 17. Nearly 200 people attended the training, including the presidents, members, full-time officials and model workers of the union.

In training, Zhang Hengshun, the executive director of Beijing Law Society and the executive deputy secretary-general of China Social Law of CLS gave a lecture about how to deal with labor disputes and rights protection under the new circumstances. Labor dispute mediation is important and difficult for the rights protection services of the union. Focusing on labor disputes, Mr. Zhang analyzed the new situation and challenges of labor relations adjustment in a detailed and easy-to-understand way through many practical cases. He also provided ideas and methods for the union to tackle labor disputes.

Judge Tian Lu from Beijing Third Intermediate People's Court delivered an informative and profound speech on how the Civil Code will affect our lives. Ms. Tian talked about the main content and statements of the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China and analyzed many cases, which is of great practical guidance for union officials to embrace the rule of law, handle labor relations disputes and improve their work.

After the training, the participants stated that they should take this training as an opportunity to study and explore the new requirements, duties and methods of rights protection under the new circumstances, have a good command of knowledge about the laws and regulations of rights protection, and perform well in employee’s rights protection services.
