Beijing Investment Promotion Service Center Holds the 2021 Work Conference on Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline

On March 24, the 2021 Work Conference on Comprehensively Strengthening Party Discipline was kicked off by the Beijing Investment Promotion Service Center. Guided by Lu Jinqi, an official of the Beijing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Beijing Municipal Supervisory Committee and chief of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group in the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, this conference was attended by the center's leaders, and all heads of the organs and public institutions directly affiliated to the center. At the conference, all attendees were informed of and studied the spirit in General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and that in the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Sixth Plenary Session of the 12th Beijing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection. They summarized and arranged the work of ensuring full and strict governance over the Party in 2020 and 2021, and signed the 2021 Statement of Responsibility for Comprehensively Governing the Party with Strict Discipline. Lu Jinqi, chief of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group in the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau, set forth targeted opinions on how to protect the rights of Party members and raised explicit requirements on how to build a clean and upright political ecology. On behalf of the Center's Party leadership group, Xu Zongjun, member of the Party leadership group and deputy director of the Center and secretary of the Party Affairs Committee, put forward five requirements for this work: First, we should fully understand the situation, and effectively enhance the sense of responsibility and mission for the work; Second, we must make our political stance clear and highlight the leading and guaranteeing role of enforcing full and strict discipline over the Party; Third, we must see that pressure is felt at every level of government and ensure the principal responsibilities for the Party's self-supervision and self-governance are fully assumed; Fourth, we must strictly exercise oversight and enforce discipline, continue to address formalities for formalities' sake, bureaucratism, hedonism, and extravagance, and make concerted efforts to build a system that ensures officials dare not, cannot and will not be corrupt; Fifth, we must achieve unity in thinking and action to promote the successful completion of key tasks throughout the year with an enterprising spirit and work style.
