On August 23, a symposium between the leaders of the Beijing Municipal Government Leadership and foreign business associations and enterprises in Beijing was successfully held in the Municipal Government. Yin Yong, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. Yang Xiuling, deputy secretary general of the municipal government, responsible comrades of the government related commissions and bureaus and the 16 districts, and representatives of 11 overseas business associations and 27 foreign-funded enterprises participated in the symposium. Vice Mayor Yin Yong listened to the speeches of 8 business associations including the Beijing Foreign Business Association, the American Chamber of Commerce, the European Union Chamber of Commerce, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce, the US SAS, the Belgian SWIFT and the Singapore Temasek. Vice Mayor responded one by one to the opinions and suggestions on the reforming and optimizing the business environment, the expansion of the service industry, urban governance, and the development of high-grade, precision and advanced industries. Vice Mayor Yin Yong emphasized that Beijing should first, build into a more open city and attract more foreign-funded enterprises to invest in Beijing. Second, Beijing should build into a city with stronger innovation capabilities and provide abundant power for the development of foreign-funded enterprises. Third, Beijing should build into a city with better business environment and provide better and more intimate services for foreign-funded enterprises. Fourth, Beijing should build into a city with better quality of lifestyle and allow employees of foreign-funded enterprises live and work in Beijing comfortably. The symposium triggered a warm response from the participants. Everyone said that by participating in this symposium, they not only had a deep understanding of Beijing's new measures to deepen reform and expand opening up, but also truly felt Beijing's determination in these areas, which in turn enhanced confidence in the investment development in Beijing. Everyone hoped that they may continue to participate in these kinds of high-end and efficient discussion and exchange activities in the future.
