On the morning of January 31, director Zhou Xu of the Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau met with Christine L. Chung, the executive director of FibroGen (China) Pharmaceutical Technology Development Co., Ltd. (referred to as “FibroGen”) and Liu Qian, vice president of AstraZeneca (China) Co., Ltd., (referred to as “AstraZeneca”). Ms. Christine L. Chung and Mr. Liu Qian introduced the development of FibroGen and AstraZeneca in China and in Beijing, the business cooperation model between the two corporations and the research and development achievements of new drugs. Both corporations also expressed their heartfelt thanks to our bureau for the great attention and concerns given to them for development of two multinational pharmaceutical enterprises in Beijing.  

Director Zhou Xu said that the pharmaceutical industry is an important part of Beijing's industrial development. The cooperation of the two multinational corporations in this field and the joint promotion of scientific research results will inevitably play a leading role in the entire industry. The Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau will vigorously support the two companies to continue to deepen cooperation in Beijing. The next step, our bureau will continue to pay attention to the development trend and needs of enterprises in Beijing, actively solve problems encountered by enterprises, and do relevant services work.
