2018-10-22 10:48

On October 17, director Zhou Xu and deputy director Yu Yan met with Mr. John West, chairman of the board of directors of BioGill of Australia, and Mr. Huang Ping, director of Beijing Technology Trading Promotion Center. The industrial development office accompanied the meeting.

Mr. John West is the founder of BioGill and a member of the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO). BioGill's core technology is nano-ceramic carrier, a breakthrough technology for wastewater biological treatment. The BioGill? biofilter is placed on the ground rather than immersed in water during operation, and the unique design provides a more energy-efficient water treatment solution. This technology has won several awards internationally. BioGill has been invested by Japan's top investment group, Softbank Group. At present, BioGill has reached a cooperation agreement with four companies including Beijing Expressway Traffic Engineering Co., Ltd., and plans to jointly invest 200 million yuan to establish BioGill's China headquarters and global R&D center.

During the meeting, director Zhou Xu said that Beijing attaches great importance to pollution control. The Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau will help BioGill to dock suitable districts and win preferential policies. We hope BioGill will use this project as a starting point to bring in more Australian high-end projects and to create a platform for gathering new projects and developing new technologies.
