Industry Profile

Green energy and energy conservation form one of Beijing's seven 100-billion-level industrial clusters. Beijing holds multiple patents in solid-state batteries, fuel cells, and photovoltaic materials, leading nationally in battery technology, hydrogen energy, and smart grids. The city hosts industry leaders including CATL Beijing R&D Center, Goldwind Beijing R&D Center, SinoHytec, and China Three Gorges Renewables.

Beijing strategically prioritizes the development of the Northern Beijing Hydrogen Energy Industry Sci-Tech Innovation Application Demonstration Zone (encompassing Yanqing, Huairou, Changping, and Haidian districts) and the Southern Beijing Hydrogen Energy High-End Equipment Manufacturing and Application Demonstration Zone (covering Fangshan District, Daxing District, and the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area) for its hydrogen energy sector. In the field of new energy storage, the city focuses on constructing Zhongguancun Science City and the "Energy Valley" to establish Beijing's "Integrated Innovation Zone" as a new energy storage industrial demonstration. Simultaneously, leveraging Zhongguancun Fangshan Park and the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area as key platforms, Beijing advances energy storage system integration, electrochemical storage, smart grids, and core equipment research and development (R&D) and manufacturing, thereby developing the "Collaborative Development Zone" as a new energy storage industrial demonstration.
