Beijing is China's most dynamic hub for the commercial aerospace industry, hosting the headquarters of state aerospace enterprises, research institutes like the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and abundant entrepreneurial talent in this field. It is home to leading commercial aerospace firms and possesses the nation's most comprehensive industrial chain in commercial aerospace, leading in satellite integration capabilities across satellite manufacturing, rocket production, ground equipment manufacturing, operation and application services.

In industrial layout, a dynamic "South-Rocket, North-Star" pattern has taken shape. The southern axis, anchored by the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area and extending across Fengtai and Daxing districts, has a cluster of commercial launch-vehicle research and development (R&D) and manufacturing enterprises. The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area is accelerating the construction of "Beijing Rocket Street," thereby spawning a specialized park for rocket development and launch services; Fengtai District leverages its resident aerospace institutes and the institutes of China Satellite Network Group in Beijing to advance satellite internet industrial parks; and Daxing District, supported by the Beijing Commercial Aerospace Industry Base, is establishing a flagship park for high-end manufacturing and innovative applications—together forming the "South-Rocket" cluster. Concurrently, the northern axis, centered on Haidian District, has gathered a constellation of satellite manufacturers, operators and application-service enterprises, thus building a "Satellite Town." It is creating an innovation-driven zone for aerospace and information industries, and these efforts contribute to the development of the "North-Star" cluster.
