Beijing leverages its strength as an international sci-tech innovation hub to accelerate the building of a global robotics industry powerhouse. The city hosts a concentration of China's top robotics research institutes as well as innovation and startup teams. It has established the nation's first humanoid robot innovation center, formed an "Artificial Intelligence + Robotics" technology frontier, and constructed two open-source platforms—Tiangong and Kaiwu—along with an embodied intelligence dataset.

In terms of industrial spatial planning, firstly, Beijing establishes a northern robotics demonstration zone for research and development-production integration. This endeavor supports Haidian District in pioneering robotics innovation to build internationally leading enterprise incubation as well as innovation and startup ecosystems. It supports Changping District in commercializing Zhongguancun's robotic innovations by attracting specialized small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and unicorn enterprises in this field. Secondly, Beijing develops a southern robotics production-application integration cluster. The effort facilitates the deployment of full industrial chains in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area to attract world-class robotics firms and build comprehensive industrial clusters of the robotics industry. It supports Fengtai District in focusing on specialized robotics sectors to construct application-oriented parks, forming domestically leading and internationally advanced industrial clusters in this field.
