Annual CIFTIS to Open on September 2 in Beijing

The 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) is scheduled to be held from September 2 to 6 at the China National Convention Center and Shougang Park, themed "Opening up Leads Development, Cooperation Delivers the Future".

The 2023 CIFTIS, covering an exhibition area of 155,000 square meters at the China National Convention Center, will include the Comprehensive Exhibition highlighting the achievements of trade in services and the opening up of the service sector, as well as national exhibitions, provincial, regional and city-themed exhibitions, and exhibitions featuring China's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. There will also be an annual thematic exhibition area and more to be announced. The nine thematic exhibitions will focus on financial services, cultural and tourism services, education services, sports services, supply chain and business services, engineering consulting and construction services, health services, environmental services, and telecommunications, computer, and information services, respectively. The National Indoor Stadium will serve as the main venue for the exhibition on environmental services.

As the guest country of this year's CIFTIS, the United Kingdom will organize the largest-ever delegation for its service trade exhibition. A total of 75 countries and international organizations will present offline exhibitions and hold conferences under the auspices of national governments and headquarters respectively. Meanwhile, 31 provincial-level administrative divisions, five municipalities with independent planning status, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Taiwan of China will continue to organize their own exhibitions. Currently, 1,868 companies have confirmed their online and offline participation, including 424 of the Global 500 companies and the industrial leaders around the world.

A total of 202 sub-events including forums and conferences will be held during this year's session, including 10 summit forums, two featured sub-events, 107 thematic forums, 17 side meetings, and 66 promotional and negotiating sessions. It is planned that authoritative information such as industrial reports and cooperative initiatives will be released during 74 sub-events.

The 2023 CIFTIS will be characterized by wider international participation and serve as a platform for expanding opening up. The Chinese government and the United Nations (UN) will jointly host a signing ceremony and supporting forums of Beijing Convention on the Judicial Sale of Ships. More than 60 guests from various countries have been invited to witness the historic signing of the first UN convention to be named after a Chinese city in the field of maritime commerce.
