Heads of Overseas Chambers of Commerce Gather in Fengtai District, Beijing for Conversations and Exchanges

On July 13, heads of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China, the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China, the Singapore Chamber of Commerce in China, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, and other organizations alike, as well as representatives from foreign-funded enterprises, visited Fengtai District. Through this trip, they aimed to have a clear understanding of the district's distinctive economic features and current development status, and explore the prospect and potential for further cooperation.

The heads of overseas chambers of commerce in Beijing lauded Fengtai for its unique geographical advantages, abundant industrial resources, and favorable business environment. They pledged to actively foster exchanges and collaboration between the member enterprises of the chambers and the district, with the shared objective of exploring mutually beneficial and win-win development paths.

It is reported that Fengtai has successfully developed and attracted on average over 50 top-notch foreign-funded enterprises each year for two consecutive years. As of May 2023, the district has added 474 new investment projects to its project pool for the investment attraction for the development of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone, exceeding the annual target for increased projects by 169 percent and ranking first in urban areas in terms of progress. The investment is estimated to be CNY 59.6 billion which represents a substantial 71 percent of the annual target, covering 26 foreign-funded projects with a total amount of foreign investment of USD 670 million.
