The Palace Museum to Pilot Free Admission for Visitors under the Age of 18 on Open Days

On November 29, the Palace Museum announced on its official website that it will pilot free admission for all visitors under the age of 18 on its open days. Previously, the Palace Museum was free for children under 6 years old or 1.2 meters in height, and for primary and middle school students who make group reservationsevery Tuesday.

From 20:00 on December 3, 2021, reservations for free admission (including the free admission for The Treasure Gallery and The Gallery of Clocks) after December 10, 2021 to those below 18 can be made via the ticketing website of the Palace Museum (https://gugong.ktmtech.cn/) or the official WeChat account of the museum's visitor service (故宫博物院观众服务).

During the trial operation, the Palace Museum will keep improving its ticket service managing system according to public opinion and suggestion.

Please note that this rule also applies to foreign visitors under the age of 18.
