Shijingshan District signed the strategic cooperation agreement with the Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning and the Assessment Center of Environmental Engineering, deepening the strategic collaboration on scientific research, technical consulting, and talent training in the field of ecological and environmental protection. This move facilitates the shift towards green development with good quality in Shijingshan District. 

After the settlement of Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in the new Shougang Park, two more national-level institutions will settle in Shijingshan District. Shijingshan District will provide strong support to the implementation of the cooperation project, accelerating the relocation of the two institutions to the District. 

In recent years, by giving full play to the role of the Shougang Industrial Heritage and the geographic location, Shijingshan District has leveraged the opportunities presented by the Winter Olympics to speed up the transformation of Shougang Park, aiming to revitalize this former industrial base in a sustainable approach. Today, the National Winter Sports Training Center has been built based on the former plant, the training venues of curling, figure staking, short-track speed-skating and ice hockey on the coal storage center, the office area of Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games on the West Ten Silos. Shougang Park is taking up new missions, exploring the Winter Olympics model with Chinese characteristics, showcasing the features and charm of the city, and building a new landmark that indicates the rejuvenation of Beijing.  

As the Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games settled in Shijingshan, the District seized the opportunities to foster new industries, business types and economic growth drivers that are in line with the innovative, coordinated, green, open and sharing development ideas, building the pillars for quality growth in the District. 

To this end, Shijingshan upgrades the industrial structure and builds up the key functional zones. Landmarks including the Chang'an Golden Axis, Shijingshan Park of Zhongguancun Science Park, Beijing Banking & Insurance Business Park, Jingxi Business Center, Overseas Chinese Creation and Innovation Development Zone in Beijing and Zhongguangcun Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park are all testaments to the progresses.
