The Yanqing competition zone for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games completed a comprehensive test over the weekend by hosting the luge World Cup, and welcomed the first group of spectators to the venue on Saturday evening.

About 300 people watched the World Cup held at the National Sliding Centre in Beijing's Yanqing district on November 20. Spectators attending the competition had to undergo body temperature check, present their health code and routes of the cities they had been to before they could enter the venue, local authorities said.

There was a special entry route for spectators in the competition venue and audience did not have any contact with the venue staff members, athletes and other service staff to ensure the safety of the area, said the organisers.

In addition, epidemic prevention supplies were provided at the ticket gates, the audience stand, as well as the heating region to make spectators get necessary anti-epidemic materials at any time.

More than 70 Games volunteers from universities in Beijing joined in the event operation and service support of the test event. They ensured order, checked tickets and offered information.
