As China's first and sole trans-provincial comprehensive bonded area, the Comprehensive Bonded Area of Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) Economic Zone is under smooth construction. About to start the preliminary acceptance, it is expected to kick off the independent customs operation before end of the year.

The Comprehensive Bonded Area, with a planned area of 4.35 square kilometers, is jointly operated by Beijing, Hebei, and Capital Airports Holdings Limited. Compared with the bonded area and port area of most airports, the PKX Bonded Area is relatively independent, suited to assuming the function of the primary depot for airport customs, which will greatly optimize the business process and freight flow, accelerate the customs clearance and improve the operation efficiency. This is also an important part of the efficient customs clearance supervision mode in PKX Bonded Area, in a bid to develop the highest customs clearance efficiency in China.

In addition, to build the PKX Bonded Area into one with "the most effective supervision, the most convenient customs clearance, the most advanced facilities, the most rational management and the most intensive resources", Beijing customs authority also gives full play to the policy superposition advantages of the "three zones" in Beijing, namely, the Integrate National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sectors, China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Comprehensive Bonded Area, and providing strong support for innovation-driven development by actively studying and striving for the implementation of more innovative policies and reform measures in the PKX Bonded Area.

In accordance with the requirements of "unified planning, unified policies, unified standards, unified management and control, and unified assessment", Beijing and Hebei will further open up to promote industrial agglomeration and innovation, build a benchmark for China's first comprehensive bonded area characterized by joint discussion, joint construction and sharing of stakeholders, and build the PKX Bonded Area into a core engine for the development of the airport economic zone and a hub-type platform for global innovation resources.
