Based on the needs of Xicheng District residents, the Xicheng District government plans to do 169 practical things for residents this year, including 23 district-level things and 146 sub-district-level things.

The district-level things are related to improving people’s living condition, building a safe and livable environment, improving transportation condition, optimizing public services, improving the convenience of people’s life, and enriching people’s culture and sports life.

In terms of improving people’s living condition, Xicheng District plans to comprehensively improve six old communities, renovate and repair 2816 bungalows, comprehensively maintain 87 residential buildings, and reconstruct rainwater and sewage pipelines of 150 bungalow courtyards in 2021.

In terms of building a safe and livable environment, Xicheng District will build 5200 square meters of pocket parks and mini green spaces, increase roof greening with an area of 5000 square meters and vertical greening with the extension lines of 1000 meters, and create garden-style environment in one community and one organization. Moreover, 200 quality restaurants are planned to be selected as models, 50 back streets and alleys will get improved, and 20 public toilets will be renovated into Class-2 ones.

In terms of improving transportation condition, Xicheng District plans to complete the construction of two secondary trunk road and access road to reduce traffic congestion, carry out congestion relief projects on 5 roads, and build 18-km stretch of slow lanes.

In terms of optimizing public services, Xicheng District will help 6000 registered unemployed persons get jobs, increase 500 home-based nursing care beds, train no less than 100 medical workers at grassroots, and build 60 family doctor teams.

In terms of improving the convenience of people’s life, 20 convenience service outlets, two parking buildings, and 200 parking lots will be added in Xicheng District this year.

In terms of enriching people’s culture and sports life, Xicheng District will organize more than 800 cultural activities throughout the whole year, including public performances, lectures, exhibitions, and training activities, and build one sports venue with fitness facilities in each sub-district.

In addition, all the 15 sub-districts of Xicheng District will do a total of 146 practical things for residents in 2021, mainly covering community security, senior care services, environmental improvement, community services and other aspects related to people’s livelihood.
