In 2021, Xicheng District plans to increase green fields with an area of 5200 square meters, roof greening with an area of 5000 square meters and vertical greening with the extension lines of 1000 meters, build one garden-style community and one garden-style organization, and hold 300 horticultural culture promotion activities, the reporter learned from Xicheng District Bureau of Forestry and Parks recently.

Xicheng District will continue to build pocket parks and mini green fields, and complete the second phase of the Xidan Cultural Square urban forest. Meanwhile, taking Rending Lake Park and Xuanwu Park as pilot points, Xicheng District will launch the construction of all-age-friendly parks, and set up sports venues according to local conditions, in order to provide visitors with an activity space shared by both the old and the young, and meet residents’ diverse needs for park services.

By 2025, Xicheng District plans to increase green fields with an area of 4.8 hectares, and reach a green coverage ratio of 31.85 percent. Roof greening with an area of 25000 square meters and vertical greening with the extension lines of 5 kilometers will be increased, and 5 garden-style communities and 5 garden-style organizations will be built.
