The Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium (hereinafter referred to as the Symposium) has been held 27 times since its inception in 1997, following Hong Kong's return to China. Over the past two decades, the Symposium has leveraged the unique strengths and complementary advantages of both Beijing and Hong Kong, expanding the scope and channels of cooperation. It has played a significant role in driving the economic and social prosperity of both regions and improving the well-being of people.
The 27th Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium and the Hong Kong Investment Promotion Conference were held in Beijing from September 20-21, 2024, with the theme "Leveraging Mutual Strengths, Creating Prosperity Together." The Symposium focused on key industries such as finance, science and technology, trade and logistics, professional services, consumer goods, and cultural tourism. Through activities like policy promotion, environmental showcases, discussions, and business matchmaking, the Symposium aimed to deepen cooperation between Beijing and Hong Kong, fostering mutual growth and a win-win partnership. This year's Symposium combined a main venue with multiple sub-forums, featuring an opening ceremony, thematic promotion sessions, and 15 specialized sessions focusing on Beijing-Hong Kong cooperation.
