Zhang Tong, a second-level inspector at the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, pledged strong support for Taiwan-funded enterprises’ investment and operation in the capital city.
Zhang made the remarks on Sept 10 while addressing the fourth Cross-Strait Trade in Services Promotion Conference in Beijing. Exchanges between Beijing and Taiwan have continued to deepen, and areas of cooperation have kept expanding, thanks to the joint efforts of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, he said.
Trade in services remains an important bond in cross-Strait economic and trade cooperation and a key area for win-win collaboration between Beijing and Taiwan, Zhang said. The bureau will provide its best possible services to support Taiwan-funded enterprises’ investment and operation in Beijing, helping them seize the new opportunities created by cross-Strait integrated development, he added.

The event was co-hosted by the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland (ATIEM), the Beijing Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office, the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau and the Beijing Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises.
Chen Wenguan and Li Honglan, executive vice presidents of ATIEM; Wang Guiliang, vice president of the Cross-Strait Business Coordination Council; Huo Guangfeng, director of the Beijing Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office, and his deputy Liu Xianchuan; Du Lei, a second-level inspector at the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau; and Zhang Mingming, deputy head of Shijingshan district, also attended the conference.
