The Beijing-Chengdu-Chongqing Commercial Aerospace Cooperation Symposium was held in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan province on July 15, bringing together government officials, financial institutions and industry representatives to explore new opportunities for collaboration in China's rapidly growing commercial aerospace sector.

Hosted by the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, the event focused on Beijing's industrial ecosystem, policy support and investment environment while strengthening cooperation between Beijing and the Chengdu-Chongqing region.

During the symposium, relevant Beijing authorities introduced Beijing's overall commercial aerospace layout, supportive policies, key industrial carrier zones and development strengths. As the cradle of China's commercial aerospace industry, Beijing has built a comprehensive industrial ecosystem covering satellite manufacturing, launch vehicle research and development, TT&C (telemetry, tracking and command), satellite constellation construction and operation, as well as ground equipment and terminal manufacturing.

Two leading Beijing-based enterprises, Orbital Chenguang and Sixiang Technology, specializing in space computing and remote sensing applications, shared their development circumstances in Beijing and highlighted the city's supportive business environment. Both companies expressed their willingness to strengthen collaboration with upstream and downstream partners in the Chengdu-Chongqing region to promote coordinated industrial development.

Addressing the symposium, Ma Jiye, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, said Beijing offers broad market opportunities for enterprises seeking to establish headquarters, conduct cutting-edge research and expand into global markets.

Ma noted that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030) Beijing will continue to develop industrial clusters in commercial aerospace and aerospace information, support the national satellite constellation initiative, and further strengthen the entire industrial chain spanning satellite and rocket development, ground terminals, applications and operational services. He encouraged enterprises from the Chengdu-Chongqing region to invest in Beijing, deepen enterprise collaboration, and jointly build a globally competitive commercial aerospace ecosystem.

The symposium generated strong interest among participating enterprises in Beijing's sci-tech strengths, industrial ecosystem and policy support. Several companies expressed intentions to establish or expand their presence in Beijing, while others sought closer cooperation in areas including policy support, industrial investment funds and market expansion.

The Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau will continue to provide dedicated, partner-style investment services, offering tailored support in policy consultation, project matchmaking, market development and business establishment to help enterprises better invest and grow in Beijing.
