The 27th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo (CHITEC) concluded on May 11. Over four days, the expo showcased more than 1,200 cutting-edge technological innovations and attracted over 80,000 domestic and international visitors.
During the expo, a total of 43 projects were signed on site, with contracts values exceeding 5.8 billion yuan (approximately $807.36 million).
Frontier Technologies Take Center Stage
Spanning 50,000 square meters, this year’s expo brought together over 800 enterprises and institutions from both China and abroad, focusing on frontier technologies and emerging industries. More than 120 overseas companies from over 30 countries and regions participated, debuting over 600 technological innovations—including AI-powered waste incineration systems and multi-functional wall-climbing robots.
As a key indicator of the tech industry’s progress, the expo unveiled numerous significant scientific breakthroughs. The Zhuque series rocket models and the Yunxing supersonic aircraft prototype were highlights, exemplifying the integration of technological innovation with industrial application.
Robotics were a standout at the expo: the world’s first AI orthopedic surgical robot can complete joint replacement in just 30 minutes; wall-climbing robots perform vertical operations, reducing the safety risks faced by workers at heights; and the humanoid industrial robot Walker S1 efficiently handled transport tasks across the exhibition floor.
In information technology, China’s first 1,000-qubit optical quantum computer was unveiled, promising to boost drug screening efficiency by a thousandfold. Meanwhile, Mogo.ai Information Technology Co Ltd’s MogoMind large model offered new solutions for smart mobility.
Multinational giants such as AstraZeneca and Sanofi showcased their latest innovations. Companies from Singapore, the Czech Republic, and South Korea also brought AI and biomedicine products, seeking collaboration opportunities at the expo.
Over 30 Events Foster Practical Cooperation
In addition to exhibitions, this year’s CHITEC hosted over 30 trade and investment promotion events, creating a pragmatic platform for exchange and collaboration.
As part of the Beijing International Fair for Investment and Trade 2025, a dedicated Beijing-Saudi Arabia Advanced Manufacturing Forum was held, drawing over 300 Chinese and foreign companies for face-to-face exchanges—turning potential opportunities into tangible partnerships.
A series of promotional events—including the “Future Industries” Forum, the Jingpin Go Global exchange for specialized and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and the Green Economy Techology and Industry Cooperation Promotion Conference—facilitated knowledge sharing and market linkages in sectors such as new energy and intelligent manufacturing, helping enterprises expand efficiently into global markets.
Focus on Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei to Advance Regional Integration
Focusing on the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the expo hosted multiple industrial forums to create new platforms for resource integration and collaboration.
The Three-Year Action Plan for Coordinated IP Development in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei was released at the event, alongside the launch of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Industrial Tourism Service Alliance, promoting regional resource sharing and industrial synergy.
This year’s CHITEC emphasized collaboration in science and technology industries, international trade and investment promotion, and interactive online engagement. Exhibitors widely praised the event for its efficiency and tangible outcomes, expressing strong interest in returning for next year’s edition.
