China-UK cooperation conference held in Beijing

The China-UK AI+ Healthcare, Energy and Technology Finance Cooperation Dialogue and Collaboration-Building Conference was successfully held on May 22, in Lize Financial Business District, Fengtai, Beijing.

Jointly hosted by the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, the 48 Group Club, and the Fengtai District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, the event was a professional business matchmaking initiative specifically aimed at strengthening  ties with key foreign investment partners and advancing the internationalization of Beijing’s business environment.

The forum brought together over 60 participants, including representatives from more than 20 British enterprises affiliated with the 48 Group Club. Notable attendees included Jack Perry, Chairman of the 48 Group Club, Timothy Russell Hailes, Alderman of The City of London, and Lord John Taylor of Warwick, a member of the UK House of Lords and an expert in AI. They were joined by delegates from nearly 20 Chinese enterprises, including central and municipal State-owned enterprises as well as private firms.

Sun Yao, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, attended the conference and delivered a speech.

During the event, representatives from UK companies such as London Export Corporation, Alexander Myerson & Co Ltd, Octopus Energy Group Ltd, and KPMG UK, presented key cooperation projects. Chinese enterprises including CITIC Medical & Health, China Huadian Overseas Investment Co Ltd, YeePay Co Ltd, Beijing Tiancheng Tonglian Technology Co Ltd and Beijing E-Town International Investment & Development Co Ltd showcased a wide range of AI-driven applications used in various scenarios.

In the business matchmaking session, participants held in-depth discussions focused on collaboration opportunities in AI-driven healthcare, clean energy, fintech, and blockchain technologies—laying a strong foundation for future China-UK industrial cooperation.
