Chaoyang's innovations get national recognition

2025-05-30 18:27

China's Ministry of Commerce released The Third Batch of Best Practice Cases from the National Comprehensive Pilot Program for Opening Up the Service Sector recently, in a bid to promote innovative measures nationwide that demonstrate strong replicability, practical value, and positive market feedback. Four institutional innovation cases from Chaoyang District's ''Two Zones'' initiative (Beijing's Free Trade Zone and National Service Sector Opening-Up Comprehensive Demonstration Zone) were selected for national emulation.

Among them, two cases—''Exploring a Distributed Digital Trade Model Across All Supply Chain Stages with Singapore'' and ''Streamlining Foreign Enterprise Registration and Licensing''—were highlighted as flagship examples in their respective fields. The other two cases, ''Financial Innovations Empowering Cultural Industries'' and ''Cross-Regional 'Port-Proximate' Customs Clearance Service Model'', were incorporated into composite case studies for their exemplary approaches.

Since the launch of the ''Two Zones'' initiative, Chaoyang District has focused on key industries to pioneer institutional innovations. To date, 9 cases have been picked for city-wide emulation, while 15 cases have been promoted nationally 17 times.

Moving forward, Chaoyang District will leverage its unique strengths to advance institutional reforms, with plans to roll out new open innovation measures in sectors like digital economy as well as cultural and entertainment industries. The district aims to pilot more groundbreaking policies and high-impact projects, solidifying its role as Beijing's vanguard in driving the ''Two Zones'' initiative to global standards.
