On the afternoon of December 14, Director Sun Yao met with Akio Ishii, President at Beijing Branch of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (China), and his delegation. Su Hong, Deputy Director of Beijing Investment Promotion Service Center, also attended the meeting.

Mr. Ishii introduced the development status of the bank and its cooperation with the center. The two sides had an in-depth exchange on the following four aspects presented by Wang Faxin, Vice President of the bank's Business Promotion Department: the current cooperation in hydrogen energy, strengthening cooperation with Zhongguancun, establishing contact channels with relevant national ministries and commissions, and hoping to connect with Xiongan New Area.

Director Sun expressed his full support to satisfy the bank's demand, and expected to strengthen cooperation and exchanges in the field of industry research. He put forward three suggestions for future cooperation: The center will actively support the development of the bank and SMBC Nikko Securities Inc. to invest in Beijing; the bank is hoped to invite enterprises with investment intentions to participate in the events to be held by the center; and hopefully, it will share more experiences and lessons of Japan's development in the field of hydrogen energy with Beijing. It was hoped that the bank will give full play to the advantages of its client resources to introduce more outstanding enterprises and institutional investors to invest in Beijing, to serve the capital in developing Beijing Sino-Japanese Innovation Cooperation Demonstration Zone as well as the two zones, i.e. China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone and a national integrated demonstration zone for greater openness in the services sector.
