On the afternoon of November 13, 2018, the 8th (expansion) meeting of the fourth session of the Beijing Federation of Foreign-funded Enterprises was held in the first conference room of the Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau. Executive vice-chairman Zhang Jianjun preside over the meeting.  

The meeting first conveyed the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the members of the new leadership of the Communist Party of China, and preached the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the Chinese Trade Union. The meeting emphasized that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech fully reflected the Party’s central government’s concern for the broad masses of workers and trade union cadres, the strong leadership of the labour movement and trade union work, and the high hopes placed on trade union organizations. The meeting called on all local trade unions to study the important expositions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the working class and the work of the trade unions and to combine the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to effectively enhance the political, advanced and mass nature of the work of the trade unions. We should fully adhere to the Party's leadership over the trade union work and earnestly unite the workers and masses around the Party Central Committee. It is necessary that the spirit of the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his talks with the new leadership team and the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the Chinese Trade Union be quickly aroused in the trade unions of foreign-funded enterprises.  

The meeting also studied the budget adjustment of the Federation in 2018, reviewed the advanced collectives and individuals of the Federation for the greening and beautifying of the capital in 2018, and reported the audit of 30 foreign-invested labor unions in 2018.
