On September 19, the 25^th Beijing-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum was held online simultaneously in Beijing and Taiwan, and the Beijing venue was located in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. Guo Jinlong, Chairman of the Cross-Strait CEO Summit in Chinese Mainland, Zhang Ping, Vice Chairman of the Cross-Strait CEO Summit in Chinese Mainland, Liu Jieyi, Director of the Taiwan Work Office of the CPC Central Committee, and Director of Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and Chen Jining, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, attended the opening ceremony at the Beijing venue.

Liu Jieyi said in his speech that the Beijing-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum is an important platform for compatriots on both sides of the strait to exchange and cooperate, and for Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan enterprises to participate in the construction of the capital. In the past 25 years, it has promoted fruitful cooperation between Beijing and Taiwan. It is of positive significance and demonstration effect to promote new achievements in Beijing-Taiwan cooperation at a new starting point. The vast number of Taiwan compatriots are members of the Chinese nation, and great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and prosperity of China are closely related to the future and destiny of Taiwan compatriots. Compatriots on both sides of the strait should join hands and share the responsibility and glory of rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Beijing has powerful strength in economy, science and technology, finance, culture and education, and has a solid foundation and distinctive advantages in exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan. The CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality attach great importance to Taiwan affairs, and dynamically carry out the activity of "I do practical things for Taiwan compatriots". The development environment of Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan enterprises in Beijing is becoming better and better. The Taiwan Work Office of the CPC Central Committee and Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council will, as always, vigorously support exchanges and cooperation between Beijing and Taiwan, and help Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan enterprises invest in the capital and live and work in peace and contentment. 

Chen Jining said in his speech that the Beijing-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum has become an important platform to promote economic and trade cooperation between the two regions. Beijing will thoroughly implement the decision and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, continuously deepen the pragmatic cooperation between Beijing and Taiwan, strengthen the exchange of economic, trade and technology cooperation, promote Taiwan-funded enterprises and projects in Beijing, support Taiwan businesses and enterprises to participate in the construction and development of the capital, and promote mutual benefit of both regions. We will strengthen the services for Taiwanese businesses and enterprises, promote the implementation of Taiwan-friendly policies, and carry out "I do practical things for Taiwan compatriots" activities on a regular basis to facilitate the lives of Taiwan compatriots, strengthen liaison and communication, promote cross-strait youth exchanges, strengthen exchanges and communications in culture and other areas, and build a comprehensive pattern of exchange and cooperation. Let us work together to consolidate and expand the results of cooperation, deepen the exchange and cooperation mechanism between Beijing and Taiwan, make new and greater contributions to the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and a better future for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Guo Jinlong and Liu Zhaoxuan, Chairman of the Cross-Strait CEO Summit in Taiwan, delivered speeches in Beijing and Taiwan respectively. Leaders attending the forum also jointly launched the online platform of Beijing-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum. With the theme of "Exploring New Paths, Integrating New Development and Sharing New Achievements", this forum has set up venues in Beijing and Taiwan respectively, and will hold cross-strait industrial carbon reduction cooperation seminar, emerging industry cooperation, financial cooperation and other special forums both online and offline.
