Beijing's Actual Use of Foreign Capital Exceeded 14.2 Billion USD, Accounting for 10% of China's Total

The Beijing Investment Fair of the Beijing Thematic Day of the China International Fair for Trade in Services 2020 (CIFTIS 2020) was held. 2020 Beijing Foreign Capital Development Report (the Report) was released during the fair.

The Report pointed out that Beijing has a total of 45,000 foreign-funded enterprises by 2019, accounting for about 5% of China. In 2019, 1,636 foreign-funded enterprises were newly established in Beijing, and the actual use of foreign capital was 14.21 billion USD, accounting for 10% of the total actual use of foreign capital in China.

According to statistics, in 2019, in terms of Beijing's industries that are above designated size, the value-added of high-tech manufacturing and strategic emerging industries increased by 9.3% and 5.5% respectively, with the contribution of 74.7% and 58.9% respectively. Among them, the output value of the three major industries, namely, the automobile, electronics and medicine industry, has all reached 100 billion CNY, and their total value-added accounting for 37% of Beijing's industries above designated size.

Currently, the innovation and development of Beijing has shifted from "Made in Beijing" into "Created in Beijing", and the development momentum is increasing. The contribution of Beijing's tertiary industry to GDP has remained above 80%, and the structure of tertiary, secondary and primary industry has continued to be optimized.

By 2019, the number of state-level high-tech enterprises in Beijing exceeded 25,000, accounting for about 14% of China's total, ranking first domestically.
