Beijing is China's political center,cultural center,international communication center and science and technology innovation center.In 2019,the city achieved 3.53713 trillion yuan13 trillion yuan,an increase of 6.1 percent over the previous year at comparable prices.In terms of economic development,it shows typical characteristics of the capital economy,mainly reflected in five aspects:

One is the headquarters economy.Economic growth:preliminary accounting,the annual realization of regional GDP of 3.53713 billion yuan,at comparable prices,an increase of 6.1%over the previous year.Among them,the added value of the primary industry was 11.37 billion yuan,down 2.5 percent;the added value of the secondary industry was 571.51 billion yuan,up 4.5 percent;and the added value of the tertiary industry was 295.425 billion yuan,up 6.4 percent.The composition of the three industries changed from 0.4.16.5.83.1 in the previous year to 0.3.16.2.83.5.According to the resident population,the city's per capita regional GDP is 164000 yuan.

Third,an open economy.The total import and export value of Beijing was 271.82 billion yuan,an increase of 23.9 percent over the previous year.Of these,exports amounted to 487.85 billion yuan,an increase of 23.0 per cent;imports amounted to 223.3039 billion yuan,an increase of 24.1 per cent.

Foreign contractual investment of US$41.88 billion was absorbed throughout the year,an increase of 24.6 per cent over the previous year.Actual utilization of foreign capital amounted to$17.31 billion,down 28.9 per cent.Among them,information transmission,computer services and software accounted for 26.1%,leasing and business services accounted for 15.7%,scientific research,technical services and geological exploration accounted for 13.9%,and real estate accounted for 11.2%.

Fourth,consumer economy.The total market consumption was 2.54059 trillion yuan,an increase of 7.4 percent over the previous year.The total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 1,365.82 billion yuan,an increase of 11.8 percent,while the total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 1,174.77 billion yuan,an increase of 2.7 percent,of which the retail sales of wholesale and retail enterprises above the quota reached 263.29 billion yuan,an increase of 10.3 percent,accounting for 22.4 percent of the total retail sales of consumer goods.

Fifth,the capital's infrastructure advantages.Infrastructure construction has always been a priority in Beijing's urban construction.Especially in roads,rail transit,communications,electricity,gas and facilities such as science and technology,education,culture,health,sports and other facilities,Beijing has been in the forefront of China's major cities.

Sixth,the capital's security advantages.Beijing attaches great importance to the work of ensuring safety and stability,continuously improves the management system and mechanisms of social governance,production safety and market supervision,and has good social security and social order,vigorously strengthens the supervision of food and drug safety,and ranks first in the country in terms of food safety,water,electricity and heat supply safety,reliability and stability.
